TERRAIN emerges from a site-specific engagement with the former industrial grounds around Münster’s harbour. Rather than being printed as images, the eight woodcut matrices function as sculptural objects in their own right and are exhibited as finished works.
The series investigates the overlooked yet resilient constellation of industrial wastelands and abandoned harbour infrastructure and sites of alternative cultural practice. Working from a studio embedded within this terrain, these threshold landscapes have been observed over 18 months as spaces shaped simultaneously by human and non-human adaptation. Rather than viewing these marginal zones as merely derelict, the work treats them as active environments currently in flux.
